The concept behind the Gonaives orphanage is a "Village”.  Not only will we be supporting the children inside the orphanage, we will also allow children from the local area to attend school. These children will also be provided meals during the school year.  As our partners are growing and learning, they have found that by helping in the local community, it in turn helps the orphanage. The children in the orphanage will benefit from the community embracing them and not seeing them as "privileged" while their own children are starving.

So what does our "decision to support" mean? Our desire is to fully fund $150,000 per year for the next three years. There are 250 children in the orphanage, so this breaks down to $1.64 per day per child. This is an act of faith, as we have no idea how this is going to happen. Don't get us wrong, we are going to do our best, but we know that ultimately it is God that will bring the funds. Your help is needed now more than ever!
